We love the little things that change the feeling of a table. These hand-crafted terracotta tea lights cast a soft, imperfect glow - the kind that makes dinner linger a little longer. But the reason they belong in the Lilikoi Shop goes much deeper. Each tiny pot carries a story of resilience, transformation. These tea lights were inspired by the broken clay vessels historically associated with the marginalized Dalit community of India. They were forced to drink from and immediately shatter on the ground because others feared using them after used by Dalit people.
Today, Dalit artisans transform that history into beautiful, useful objects, creating work and opportunity in their communities. We chose them because we believe this tiny imperfect, but inviting pots have a story to share at your own dinner table.
Product Details: Each ethically produced box features ten hand-poured miniature, unscented candles nestled in raw, earth-toned terracotta. Approx Burn Time: 4 Hours. Candle Dimensions: L 4 cm x W 4 cm x H 3 cm. All Dalit candles are handmade by the Dalit people of India.
